We believe that hope, salvation, peace and purpose is found in a relationship with Jesus, not in a religion or lifestyle. Leadership
Hyuk Jo - Senior Pastor
Hyuk grew up in Colorado attending high school in Aurora and the University of Colorado, Boulder. After attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX (where he met his wife Christy), he moved back to Colorado to serve in ministry. Hyuk became the pastor of SHBC in 2022. He has a passion for encouraging people to draw closer to God because that’s where people will find hope, joy, and peace; not in a church or religion but in their relationship with God. Additionally, he is leading SHBC to think of church differently which has led SHBC to adopt a volunteer model for church. All staff and leadership positions at SHBC, including Hyuk’s position as pastor, is non-paid and done on a volunteer basis.
Our Beliefs

We believe that the Bible is truth and can be trusted to enter into a relationship with God, maintain our relationship with God and will lead us to our ultimate salvation.

We believe that the Bible is infallible, the very word of God. What the Bible says is what it says.

We believe God is the creator of all things.

We believe in the trinity, that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the Father- one aspect that God has chosen to reveal Himself to us.

God the Son- we believe that Jesus Christ is the incarnation of God, Himself, coming to earth. Jesus was fully God and fully man. He physically lived on this earth, lived a sinless life, was the sacrificial lamb for our sins, was crucified on the cross, died and on the 3rd day physically resurrected from death and is alive today.

God the Holy Spirit- is the form that God has chosen to come into our souls and continually dwell with believers.

We believe that man is separated from God because of our sin and Jesus’ death on the cross bought salvation for us so that we can be reconciled to God.
